Series of 24 engravings (plate size ca. 20 x 14 cm) with views of landscapes around Brussels, by Hans I Collaert possibly after Hans Bol or Jacob Grimmer, each with a caption in the plate (plates 8 and 20 also with Van Luyck and Collaert's monograms "H.V.L.EX[cudit]" and "H.C.F[ecit]"). A wholly chromolithographed Art Nouveau prayer book, printed in numerous pastel colours plus gold, with (mostly floral) decoration on every page and numerous additional illustrations. In a silver binding (hallmarked "800" at the foot of the otherwise blank back cover), with "Our Lady of the Rosary" from the shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary in Pompei depicted on the front cover in high relief (madonna and child presenting rosaries to Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine) flanked by two irises, above "Ave Maria" and a panel with "SS. Vergine di Pompei", endpapers lithographed in pastel colours plus gold, in a repeating pattern of abstracted flowers, crosses, anchors, hearts and initials "VD" or "DV", gilt edges. [Flanders and Paris, various publishers, ca. 1630-1850]. 2 volumes. Oblong folio (ca. 29 x 42.5 cm); sheet size ca. 12 x 9 to 35 x 23 cm. With 24 contemporary hand-coloured engravings, of which some heightened with gold, 1 contemporary hand-coloured woodcut illustration, 1 chromolithographed print, 7 watercolour drawings (including 2 on vellum), 3 silk embroidered prints in various sizes, and 1 image made of paper ornaments glued onto a black netting fabric. Further with a folded alphabetical list of the Antwerp printers and engravers of devotional prints in a 19th-century hand tipped onto the first leaf of the album. Several prints are tipped into a 19th-century elaborately gold- and blind-tooled brown morocco album, a blind-tooled ornament in the centre of both boards with the crowned initials "J.B." on the front, surrounded by a double fillet frame with elaborate corner pieces, gold-tooled board edges and turn-ins, gilt edges, white watered silk endpapers. The work is housed in a 19th-century marbled slipcase, with a paper label with the name of Countess Julie Visart de Bocarmé mounted on the front. The remaining prints have been tipped onto a sheet of sturdy paper, inserted into a clear plastic file folder, which are loosely inserted into a 19th-century elaborately gold- and blind-tooled purple morocco album, with the word "album" lettered in gold on the front, surrounded by a blind-tooled Gothic style border and an elaborate gold-tooled border, gilt edges, black watered silk end papers. Family album with rare photos of Australia and India in the late 19th century

Australia [and England and India?], 1870s. Oblong album (ca. 23 x 30 cm). With 36 albumen prints, including 14 photographs of Australia. These include houses, churches, buildings in Springsure, Queensland around 1870, photos of Charles with his horse, a wonderful picture of an "Alligator killed in the Mackay River" and "bottle trees near Taroon", 5 photographs of India: Bengal Camp Delhi, multiple group photos in Darjeeling, a group photo in front of the government house in Calcutta, and the crew of the H.M.S. Narcissus, 17 photographs of Gibraltar, America, Switserland, art pieces and the Dicken family. Further with 24 watercolour paintings of flowers, landscapes and people, including two of the Taj Mahal, and 17 coloured pencil and ink drawings of people. The drawings and paintings are almost all signed S. P. D. or F. E. D., who were likely members of the Dicken family. Most photographs and art pieces are captioned in pencil or brown ink, several leaves are decorated with additional drawings or dried plants. Contemporary maroon cloth, embroidered with yellow flowers. Comes in a custom-made black-cloth clamshell box (internally covered in burgundy cloth), with a black morocco title-label on the spine, lettered in gold, and a folding liner of the same burgundy cloth.
