Printed open letter of 1820 from Frederik of the Netherlands (1797-1881), Prince of Orange-Nassau, addressed to the Sovereign Princes of the Rose Croix (one of the highest degrees of freemasons) inviting them to join his new order of Freemason, which eliminated the higher degrees. From 1816 to his death Prince Frederik was grand master of the order of freemasons under the "Grootoosten der Nederlanden", which represented many masonic lodges in the Low Countries.
